Bali Sunfish

Sunfish Mola Mola at Crystal Bay

Posted date: 28 June 2006

A little early in the season, but the Mola Mola are already hanging around at Nusa Penida.

A group of our unsuspecting divers diving at Nusa Penida had an awesome encounter with with some sunfish whilst diving at Crystal Bay yesterday.  The weather was abolsutely beautiful along with the conditions underwater.  At about 20 - 25m the divers saw a couple of good sized Mola Mola that were just hanging around.  The Mola Mola were in their usual upright position as they were being cleaned by the masses of Bannerfish and Emporor Angel fish.  The Mola Mola stayed there for well over five minutes, oblivious of the divers around them.  A little bit later in the dive, the divers saw another different Mola Mola.  This one wasn't hanging around and decided to bolt once it has caught sight of the excited divers approaching.

During the next few months, the number of Mola Mola sightings will steadily increase.  Blue Season Bali is running Mola Mola and Manta Madness packages for people wishing to see the Mola Mola and Manta rays at Nusa Penida.

Every day at Blue Season Bali, there is always something new happening. In order to keep you up to date with what is going on, we have created some news web pages for you. Our instructors update their diving information almost daily so it's a good idea to keep visiting these pages to see what we are doing, and what we have been seeing out in the Bali oceans.
